Saw one of these close up for the first time this weekend, and wondered at the time if they were availbale for general sale to the public - turns out they are (but it doesn't say how much it would set you back)
Probably not everyones cup of tea, but I couldn't help thinking it would make a pretty smart winter bike - certainly ticks a few boxes, hub gears, puncture proof tyres, awesome loading capabilities.
Maybe even a bit more theft-proof with the Royal Mail logos (depending upon the town your in!) Who'd steal the post-man's bike?

It used to be the case that they said you couldn't buy it in red with the logo, but the same design was available to the general public with different colours: http://www.pashley.co.uk/products/pronto.html But maybe that's changed.

It used also to be said that the GPO had a special size of wheel and tyre, to make the bike less easy to use if nicked.
