BUT, you might have to give a BROOKS saddle another try!

The B17 "standard" is wider than the Professional/Swift/Swallow saddles ... for cosmetic reasons, I would suggest one with the larger, hammered, copper rivets.

Despite what Grant Peterson recommends, the initial setup should be with the rails perfectly horizontal ... that will provide a shallow "shelf" upon which you can sit if you set the saddle's fore-aft so that your sitbones are over the area encompassed by the rivets.

I do NOT recommend Proofide ... SnoSeal is subjectively better & definitely less expensive AND SnoSeal doesn't have any "fragrance" + can be buffed to a high gloss (or, not) if that is your preference.

That is one sweet looking frameset.

What is the wall thickness: center & ends?
I love the looks and ride of Waterford!... I just can't afford one.

No Brooks for me..tried twice and I am very happy with SSM Rolls, plus it looks great with the 1988 C-Record/Delta group. Rode the bike yesterday, very bright, lively ride.

Not sure of the wall thickness, thinner than standard TrueTemper tubes.

The lugs were a surprise, I think cuz we have been doing really well with Waterford lately-Thanks Richard!!

Please post some decent pictures. I just love seeing bikes with C-Record!

1 inch threaded fork, Henry James stainless crown and stainless legs. Late 80s C-Record/Delta group. Mavic Mach II CDs, tubulars, Conti Sprinters. Grammo stem. TTT Merckx bend handlebars.

I thought 'standard' was 68 to 70mm -- not that 5mm will make much difference, I guess

70 mm drop is most common on stock frames these days, but that extra half-centimeter was common for most steel road (not criterium) frames.
