Is one of the hubs any stronger than the other? They're both ISIS, which
would make the hubs equally strong eh? I'm a 210 lb guy so...

i think the first one is much stronger, the crossfire is not very
heavily built

this is what i have gather from reading serveral other threads
concerning this matter. i have the older qu-ax(non ISIS) and its bomb
proof

A lot of people say that the yellow hub is stronger than the red hub
but some say it's the same strength. And just because the hub is ISIS
doesn't make it the same as all the other ISIS hubs.

The number of splines and the specific shape of the splines (ISIS hubs
have a tapered spline interface which decreases the chances of creaking

Just like all 20" rims are not created equal, so too hubs are not
created equal. An ISIS hub will be compatible with ISIS cranks but its
strength will be determined by the quality of the raw materials used,
the manufacturing process and the size hole used for the bolts that
hold the cranks on.

There are actually two different sized bolts used on ISIS hubs, one for
road ISIS hubs (which have a bigger hole) and one for mountain ISIS
hubs (with a smaller hole). The red Qu-ax hub uses the bigger hole
design which means it is more likely to break that a hub made of the
same material with the smaller hole.

The red hub is still very strong though and I don't know of anyone in
NZ who has broken one. Kris broke a prototype KH/Schlumpf hub which
used the bigger hole design after a serious amount of abuse, so they
can be broken.

While sometimes price can give you an idea on quality - a lot of the
time it means nothing more than how long its been since they last
