Why does Horny think he needs Ball's permission to release a copy of an
unsigned contract? I'm pretty sure you're allowed to use a photocopy
machine without getting permission from a fashion designer.

I'm trying to figure out how this fight compares to the one Page is
having with his team manager. The one with Page at least has an outside
chance of ending with a fist fight inside the team motorhome if Page
finishes outside the top 5 at worlds.

Maybe Horner is just being respectful of Ball's concerns over whether
or not he wants the details of his business dealings made public or
not. Not that Horner owes him anything, after how he was lambasted/
    slandered by Ball.

I guess he (Horner) has more class than Ball.

    Dumbass,

He's got a one year contract. That means he gets to do
this again next year. It is probably a good thing for
him to give the impression that preliminary stages of
the negotiation won't be made public if the
    negotiation fails.

Just sayin. I doubt he gives a [censored] about pissing off
Ball. Who from the Velonews interview looks like he
might be the most entertaining team director since
    Horseteef.

Perhaps not, but his handling of the affair in question shows more
class than that shown by Ball.

Alright, cum gargglers, I finished making my hot chocolate. So put away
your K-Fed CD's and cap up the CVS Vaseline jar, and get ready for
    beating #371.

Horny stated HE WAS WILLING to release the contract IF ONLY BALL WOULD
GIVE HIM PERMISSION. Since Green Hornet already articulated the details
of what these preliminary contractual terms were and why he rejected
them, these disclosed facts exclude ANY possibility of the ludicrous
    logic you attributed to him.

Horner already made the details public and is simply claiming he wants
to release the contract to back up the VERACITY of his story as being
the truthful version (vs. Ball's purportedly false version).

See my point...If Santiago wasn't in any danger and you ordered him not
to be touched, why did he need to be transfered off the base...Colonel?
    Why the two orders?

I don't think Chris benefits from, nor wants those documents public. He's in
a strong position now, because most people are going to believe his version
of the story, and the longer Ball waits before admitting the truth, the
worse he (Ball) looks. Chris is waiting for Ball to dig as deep a hole for
himself as he can, or simply let it slide, knowing that he's got the upper
    hand.

I figured by #371 you'd be lashing out with something more than a limp
    noodle.

    1) It is good manners not to release details of
negotiations. Makes negotiations with your next
    potential customer/patron/employer _much_ simpler.

    2) The two parties could actually have an agreement to
    maintain confidentiality.

    3) They could still do business one day.

    4) Even if none of items 1), 2) or 3) obtains, there is
nothing like occupying the moral high ground. Ball's in
.... no wait--time for Michael Ball to see, raise, or fold.

    dumbass,

in cycling it's always been the case that corporations prefer to
sponsor an event rather than a team. it guarantees exposure and it
avoids the pitfalls of being associated with a dirty rider.

individuals on the other hand like the connection with athletes, which
is why when you have a boss like ball or tinkov who gets to call all
the shots they will prefer to start a team.

Horny already released the details of the contractual terms. The

Because that wasn't a relevant question. You're taking Horner too literally.

Horner is one of the nice guys in the world. I watched him pretty closely
since watching his responses in the interview pit at the San Francisco Gran
Prix. They asked him there and then ignored him and then when Lance showed
up they all crowded over to Lance actually pushing Chris out of the way.
Most people would have gotten [censored] but Chris just accepted what was
happening and rode off without a qualm. He showed a hell of a lot more class
    than anyone else there.

I've since watched his actions and he is one of the most polite and friendly
    guys in the pro peloton.

But I'm not in the least surprised that morons such as the ape are making
    deprecating comments about him.
