Check the alignment of the sensor & wheel magnet. Make sure the transmitter and receiver units are
as close together as possible with clear 'line of sight' between them.
I think that if it was that, it wouldn't have worked in the first place.

I disagree. If this is a reed switch like my Sigma 800, then it might just be the flimsy metal
reed becoming stiffer in the cold or being locked up with frozen condensation (lube, dilithium
residue, etc...).
I'm pretty far to the North, myself, and I can tell you this, I have parts that freeze all the time,
but, for the most part, these parts are all supposed to have brute force applied on them (shifters,
brake levers, crank stuff, etc...)--the reed switch in your computer's reciever is not. And, add to
that, it's sealed to prevent it. Just my 2 öre.
