What's causing all those crashes? Some TV production company spreading
diesel on the road surface?

Apparently its a tunnel in Russia, river over the top of it and it leaks
a bit, in -30ish degrees C - catches some people out!

I can only imagine what it was like sitting in the back of the bus
there.
You'd pay a good few quid for an experience like that at Alton Towers.

I can't work out what happened to that van at 0:57. It looks like it
split in half, but I suppose it must have been hit from behind.

From previous discussions the only logical conclusion was that the other
lorry was forced across from an adjoining tunnel.

Yes, it appears to shoot through the wall and into the side of the
first lorry. There's a hole in the wall that wasn't there before.
Quite hard to avoid a lorry that T bones you through a wall, I'd say.

Where can I buy tickets for the journey? - looks like it beats the best of
Alton Towers white knuckle rides and looks like comforatably exceeds the
adrenaline rush of the coach crash that I personally experienced......

The driver did amazingly well to hold everything together and (s)he fared
better than some the haplees motorists on the ice covered road.

I reckon the smaller truck spun and slid backwards along/through the
barrier until it hit the concrete wall when it swung around and pranged
the larger truck.

You haven't lost it until the back wheels overtake the front wheels, and
that takes quite a lot of doing with a vehicle that long.

I think that's the point at which you switch from "holding it" to
"graceful recovery" (hopefully). :-)

Especially in a tunnel narrower than the bus is long.
Maybe that's why they made it bendy.

I suspect it was more of a lottery than that with the prizes of if you
get away with it you get the Exceptional Skill & Bravery Medal and if
you don't you win the Robert Harris "Black Ice" Consolation Medal for
being the unfortunate victim of circumstances.

I am left wondering how many days its cold enough to be icy in Moscow,
how long the tunnel had been leaking and how often the drivers had
driven through there. Did they not know it was proned to icing before
they found out the hard way?
