I just attempted a run, and 5 minutes into it, I nearly blacked out.
I was going very slow - just warming up. It's on the hot side today,
but not all that humid, and I thought it was going to be a very nice
run. I felt strong. I was well-hydrated. This was about an hour after
eating a 500-calorie, high-carb lunch (a yogurt smoothie incl banana
and raspberries and an energy bar).
I had to stop for a stoplight, and as soon as I stopped running, I
became a little nauseous. Then the world suddenly started going black
on me, and I reached for a telephone pole just in time before it went
completely black. I didn't actually faint - it came and went quickly.
After my sight came back, I turned around and walked back, feeling
shaky. I just ate a can of tuna (in case it's a protein issue). The
only thing I can think of is maybe low blood pressure, since my bp
does tend to run on the low side? I didn't have any chest pain or
anything like that. No pain at all - just a wave of nausea, then
everything went black. Like a woosh into my head. I guess I was a
little dizzy too, but when the world goes dark on you suddenly, I
assume that would be expected.
Anyone else ever have this happen?
