Poodling about in the bumble mobile the we spot a likely chav charriot
with blacked out windows. A quick check reveals a SORN notice
attached to the vehicle so, curiosity aroused we put in a stop.
Out steps yon spotty youth complete with Burberry baseball cap and
blond girlfriend wearing next to nothing.
After a short conversation, during which he is warned a few times to
wind his neck in, it transpires he has just bought the vehicle from a
mate for probably a little more than it was worth, IE more than I
would have paid for a decent second hand car.
Anyhow as his attitude still stinks and we feverently believe he
should be taught the error of his ways whilst promoting road safety so
decide a traffic officer should examine the vehicle while we check
young chavie's license. Up plods a RPU officer who promptly produces
his tint-master and checks the front windscreen.
"I ain't passing that"
Starts checking the rest of the vehicle, apart from some duff
lighting- reverse lights come on with the brakes and no fluid in the
washers it's not bad.
Said officer starts talking to the young chav. Now I didn't hear all
that was said but I did hear - Don't swear at me and a standard
warning about section 5.
As we are listening to this exchange our PNC check comes back
provisional license, well there's no L plates on it - is there... chat
to girlfriend.
Have you got a full license?
Yes.
Are you supervising the driver?
No - he's passed his test.
Do you know when?
Couple of months ago.
Hmmm only it's not shown at dvla.
(Girlfriend)
****** you passed your test didn't you?
Yea I told you.
(Girlfriend)
Well this copper says you haven't.
Wander over to young chav and enquire about where and when and if he's
got his new license yet. Oh yes he's got it at home.
Well it's just the computer can't find any reference to you passing
and only lists a provisional at the address you gave.
When did you take the test?
Couple of months ago
March?
Yea
Are you sure you took the test there?
Yes
Were you living here when you passed the test?
No
Where were you living?
xxxxxx
So how long have you lived here?
Three months.
Hmmm that's not quite right is it?
You'r confusing me.
Traffic officer comes over - this is for you. Hands him a PG9 slip "I
would have allowed you to drive it home but with your attitude your
likely to crash it so you'll have to get it towed."
.... Well I don't believe you've passed your test but I'll give you a
chance to prove it. Issue HORT1. Now I'll need to see your insurance
with this you have seven days from midnight etc...
Never produces so eventually goes to magistrates where he gets the
expected ban and £300 fine.
Turns out yon mate from whom he purchased said vehicle had also had a
PG9 but had declared the vehicle off road and then sold it on without
telling said chavie mate who promptly got stopped - I mean it's going
to with blacked out windows, spoiler and go faster stripes 'init'.
An expensive evening.
