Is it cranberries?

I never actually took notice at the time. But I don't think it was
cherries.

I only thought of it because I saw dried cranberries in the shop the other
day, and was wondering what they would taste like. Then I remembered the
red fruit in some type of bread I've had before. And I was wondering if
they could be cranberries. I can't remember what the bread was.

Cranberry bread, with and without pecans, was always a feature
of Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners in our house. The bead was
made from cooked fresh cranberries and was slightly sweet.

There is a fine line between a side dish and a condiment. Those of us who
like applesauce with pork and cranberry sauce with turkey tend to have more
applesauce than cranberry. I still think of it as a condiment.

Becca, I ws referring to what might be on top of the bread with sliced
almonds; it might be pomegranate seeds. It is not something that one would
normally think would be used -- but it's a good bet as they have been quite
popular in the last few years.
