That wasn't helpful. You really should be ashamed of yourself. I am
obviously in big trouble here -- big trouble. Obviously I haven't had the
willpower or whatever it takes to "eat less and exercise more" and I am
getting frightened and desperate. My doctor suggested this. I do not like
to take any drugs, but I am afraid for my health. Of course, I have no idea
what Meridia could do to my health and thought someone here might be able to
give me a reasoned, non-abusive response based on experience, not a desire
to mock someone in trouble.Marsha, I do not appreciate your giving me the kind of answer I could have
gotten from any self-righteous jerk on the street. I really want to know if
anyone has any experience with Meridia, if it worked for them, if it hurt
them in any way. I am on the precipice of a big decision and would like all
the helpful input I can get. I have no idea what is wrong with you that you
think you can talk to a person asking for help the way you just did. -

Why are you in "big trouble"? Have you ever tried a low carb diet? That's
what this group is all about and most people here have had success with it.
It reduces your appetite so it is easier to eat less.teena wrote:

Meridia might not help you, but suicide surely would.
Eat less and exercise more, or go kill yourself.

Hi Teena,
I tried sibutramine and I think that for me, they are not a "take one a
day for the rest of your diet" pill. They *help* me controll my appetite the normal way.
It means that I can distincly feel when eating is no longer necessary. The second effect is "inner sunshine".
I say this because I realized that when there was a beautiful sun over
my town, that I could go on a bike ride and swim, and everything... I
would never feel the need for unnecessary food. This is what I feel when I take Sibutramine, sometimes. after a meal, I
feel happy. Not THC happy, right ;-) , I just feel warm and ready to go
on on my activities. I am not looking for something else I could
possibly eat while I know I had enough.
I can hear the addiction say "Hey, normally, you should feed me too".
But I just have the control and say "shut up and die", and that's the
end of it.So the way I use this drug is that I take it only for a few days (4 to
10), when I really feel that weather+mood=bad environment. The rule I respect is: If I ever binge (low-carb bingieing exists) while
being on the drug, I stop taking it. Anyway, usually, a low-carb
bingeing prevents me from eating during a long period. Without any drug ;-)3 points I noticed when I take the drug:
- it doesn't work if I don't eat at all
- it doesn't work if I have a very very low carb meal. It has to include
a bit of carbs to suppress appatite.
- works suprisingly better if I exercise . Moderate pace walking or slow
swimming makes me abolutely high when I'm on this drug.*But*
You have to check your blood pressure very often on te first times that
you take the drug. I bought a blood pressure monitor (I don't know the
english word for it, sorry) especially because I was going to take
sibutramine.
Some people died taking this drug, just because they hadn't followed the
instructions. So one has to ba very careful.btw: my way of thaking the drug is *not* how it is supposed to be taken.
This is only my experience.
I read somewhere that a study had demonstrated that the drug was
effective even if you would'nt take it every all the time, or something
like that. But do not follow my ways, please 🙂Anyway, one thing I can tell you is that low carb produces very
interesting effects to, as far as appetite reducing is concerned.
And you are here talking to *real people* who share their experience
with this WOE.And when Marsha says

do better than low carb because that is just what it does, with no

They have managed to lose weight and be healthy without noxious drugs. -

I totally disagree. There was no need for her to be rude. It didn't help
me. It didn't do anything important. No good whatsoever came of it.
Perhaps she enjoyed being rude, but if she did, she really needs to work on

I think it's immature to be rude to a newbie who is asking for information
