  1. Now that you have been using your Iphone, what is your opinion of it?
Good or bad investment? What do you like and dislike about it. One
thing everyone is complaining about is how the monthly bills arrives
in a large box that contains anywhere from 60-300 pages and the box
looks like the size of a standard book. I would be interested in your
honest opinions. Also, go here and look at what people are saying abut
    the bills on Youtube:

Investments are something you do with a stockbroker or banker. Expenses is
what you do with the phone company. Good investments increase wealth and
improve cash flow. I doubt an I Phone it going to do that for you. When
they get down to $20, I'll consider one.

Since when is any electronic gadget an investment? Unless the electronic
device is some rare antique which would have a chance of increasing in
value, I would hardly call it an investment. Let alone a new Iphone. An
investment is money invested via stock broker, banker, trustee or other
financial entity or person in order to keep and/or create wealth.

Mark, try the Mac groups for this kind of information.
    comp.sys.mac.misc
comp.sys.mac.hardware are probably a lot better sources for opinions
about an iPhone than a cooking newsgroup.

Precisely. People call impulse purchases "investments" in hopes of
making it sound less like a waste of money.

There have been few sadder things in the news lately than the stories
about the blockheads who waited in line to get the first iPhone.

I had to wonder, if, just minutes before the thing went on sale, if someone
came out and said "we made a mistake, they are $200 more" would they have
just paid it? My guess is most would say yes.

That AND as much time as folks spend on their 'puters, how much time do
they still need to spend watching youtube or getting stock charts on that
    thing?

It's the newest anti-social thing to do, imho.

Most states have statutes prohibiting "bait and switch" advertising.
The trouble from that, plus the inevitable class-action lawsuit, not to
mention to horrible publicity, would seem to make it a fairly
    undersirable action.

So? What does that have to do with the question? How many would pay?
    Probably most.

It's a moot question, as it wouldn't come up.

Geez you are dense. The question is intended as a speculation on the
psychology of the buyers, not as a real-world possibility.

You really have to learn to lighten up. I never said it would happen, it was
a hypothetical question about the psychology of the I Phone buyer. I bet
you mommy never let you watch cartoons when you were a kid.

What's a "regular" phone? Do you mean Land, Cell...?

I don't have a Cell, and I still prefer a rotary, with keypads I often
    misdial.

Why do people talk so loud on Cells... don't those things operate
properly... probably haven't perfected that technology. And since I
can almost always hear what they talking about I'm baffled as to why
they need to be talking, they say nothing, absolutely nothing worth
saying... I truly believe they have an addiction to their own voice..

I average about two phone calls a day, and usually informational
(store hours, etc.) or to make an appointment; doctor, auto service,
etc. or place a mail order. I make few personal calls and they're
brief, usually less than five minutes. What do people have to talk
about that they need to be on the phone constantly.. how many times a
day do they need to give someone a weather report. Most folks use the
phone to argue... too cowardly for a face to face because they can't
hang up... they obviously they haven't the skills for a civil
discussion. There is no such thing as a "personal" phone call. And
naturally the reason for phone sex is because they haven't the skills
    for sex in the flesh.

A moot question is still a good question, and can be answered, but not
    with certainty, since it's moot.

    From my online dictionary:

2 Law a mock trial set up to examine a hypothetical case as an academic
    exercise.

I'll give the poster points for at least knowing it is moot and not "mute".
Damn, it bugs me when I see that.

I wish I knew the answer. All I can tell you is when I talk in what I
think is a normal voice, I get a lot of Huh, can't hear you. I
suspect one of two things are possible culprits
    1. The (listening) volume on their cellphone isn't turned up properly
    2. Their hearing is shot from listening to the tv, radio, ipod etc at
    full blast.

We are quickly becomining a nation of deaf people due to direct and
    sustained abuse of our eardrums.
