OT: hotmail address problems

Russia in a different ng, also signing themselves as Dave....having a "matrix moment", feel a
sting coming on...uh-oh...

No problem with my Hotmail address.

Friend of mine had their hotmail hacked recently. Seems to have been through divulging of the 'Ive
forgotton the password' phrase/ident thing by accident, without realising the person they were
talking was after that very thing. I think they've now regained control of it (after providing
enough info which only the a/c owners could know) to hotmailish admin people.

Thanks for the reassurance guys.....<gulp>... Tried setting up a new account, all went well until I
tried to use it, came back with the same error, indicating the site was down and I should try
another time or another site......First time in 3 years I've had any issues with it. Can't help
feeling I've deleted something fairly essential off my PC...not sure what though. Had a spurious
error message about "security validation certificate being invalid" turn up a couple of times....
Had a great ride on my bike though <ahem>...and last night was really really great 'cos J10M6 was
seriously gridlocked due to closing the island down to one lane whilst they create a third...or
possibly fourth...really enjoyed sailing through the traffic, wry grin first ;-) Dave.

There were so many privacy and security issues with .NOT in the early days that I made a policy
decision never to use any service which requires a Pisspot account. I have not yet found any service
where there was not either an alternative provider or an alternative authentication method, so I
still haven't ever set up such an account. If I do I will give the minimum possible data and use an
email address which is unique to that service.

For some unaccountable reason I always find it hard to trust Microsoft or their products on issues
of security and privacy. Why might that be, I wonder?
