  1. I clicked on the link to locate a distributor nearby and of course there are
none. I suppose everyone assumes people in the southern U.S. drink nothing
but iced tea (personally I can't stand the stuff!) But how generous, they
will sell me 12 bottles for $16 + shipping and handling, of course. I think
I'll stick to making my own iced coffee; might even get some club soda or
seltzer and add it to strong black coffee to make my own coffee soda. It's
going to be a long hot summer!

    I don't work for them. It's not a widely distributed product, I can't
buy it near where I live in upstate NY either. I suppose if one were
to bug the stupidmarket manager to order it. !2 bottles for $16 is a
fair price considering the price of soft drinks nowadsys... it's the S
& H that will make it expensive. When I was a kid it was sold in 7
ounce glass deposit bottles, ice cold for 8 cents + 2 cents deposit.
Even though most drank the ice cold ones at the candy store they still
collected the deposit... afterwards you could get your 2 cents back
but most just took 2 cents worth of penny candies instead, or a soft
pretzel, or 3 loosies... loose cigarettes.

I don't drink soft drinks so it really doesn't matter, but I do like iced
coffee so your post about this coffee soda made me take a look. I won't be
    ordering any.

Heheh, around here loose cigarettes are called 'joints' and aren't tabacco
🙂 I haven't seen glass bottles or bottles for deposit in over 30 years.

Loose cigarettes are now sold exclusively to crackheads. You can find them
in most ghetto convenience stores along with Chore-Boy®.

At least they *did* stop selling the tiny little roses in glass tubes, but
they had to be ordered to do that by law.

I did notice a guy buying some digital scales at the gas station the other
day. He must've been doing a lot of mailing from home to get rich quick.
Yes, I live in the ghetto, as deep into it as you can get.
No, I don't do crack. I've had the *priveledge* of being around enough
losers in my time to observe and learn what certain, apparently innocent
    items can be used for.

I would be a cop's best friend, even a good cop. I have more experience on
the dark side than most veteran officers have ever seen.
I could empty this neighborhood and fill the jail within a week. Oh [censored],
    it's already full. :-(

    O

Remember those glass tubes for single roses? They're kind of pointed and
have a rubber band-like material on the top to hold the water in? They've
been banned because they're being used for crack pipes.

$1.49 for a miniature rose in a glass tube with plastic plugs in both ends.
    http://www.abc.ca.gov/FORMS/ABC546-A.pdf
    http://www.wweek.com/editorial/3209/7105/

You buy that, some Chore-Boy (google it) and a single cigarette.

Pull the plugs, toss them and the rose, stuff chore-boy ( a small wad ) down
about a third of the way into the tube. Smoke cigarette, saving ashes to
    place atop the chore-boy.
Place $10 or $20 crack rock on top of ashes and crack out!

Optional step - Have broken pipe shown on national TV next episode of Cops.

Hey, you can buy Chore-Boy anywhere, man. And I myself used to cough for
"ten loose" at the newsstand if I was short on cash.

The uses for those was too obvious. It's a wonder they were ever allowed
    to be sold.

Musta been. Gas station musta been, too. Never seen scales for sale in
one of those. You sure he wasn't buying them at the stationery store*?

'Salright. There's no money in that anyway. Informants get paid [censored].
Take your experience and invest it otherwise.

Actually, around here it is quite common to find loose cigarettes for
sale. I was stunned to see some low lifes approaching my brother and I
outside the local hospital trying to sell them when we were visiting my
mother there last month, and later on in the day I saw them doing it inside
the hospital. You can't smoke in the hospital or anywhere on the hospital
    property.

Yeah, I "to" <sic>. I've also watched idiots shoot dope into their veins.

I've seen a lot. Thank somebody (prolly my Mother) that I was strong enough
to pass and sit idly by and watch.
Watching a junkie get his fix is the ultimate turn off from drug use.

You may doubt all you want, your opinion means nothing to me. I know where

I had to look this one up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chore_Boy :

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    Jump to: navigation, search
Chore Boy is a brand name for a coarse scouring pad made of steel or copper
wool. It is designed for cleaning very dirty surfaces, especially washing
dishes. During the first half of the 20th century, the product was marketed
    under the name Chore Girl.

In the American community of do-it-yourself heavy drug use, it has gained a
rather large market as a make-shift part for homemade crack cocaine pipes.
It is infamously used as a filtering device in conjunction with a Chinese
product called a "Love Rose," a small glass tube with a miniature flower
    inside.

Chore Boy is also the name of a punk band who used the name because of their
past experiences smoking crack with the brand name product.
