The best option is to let him continue the race. Win it--and then get
disqualified. Then there can be the beginning of a streak of having no
winner for le Tour. In just a few more years of this nonsense "no
winner" will surpass LA's 7 straight and will be the new record holder.

[censored] and moan. He can't easily take the hard line he insisted on,
now can he? I mean ASO is a for profit company and the tour is half
over. He'd be cutting his own purse strings. Nothing will be done
until Rasmussen is out of contention. He'll either fall off his bike
seven times in the TT to beat his own TdF record and drop out of
contention, drops out because Menchov sticks a stick in his spokes or
    has intestinal distress.

Rasmussen is a trash talker with a major attitude. He's made some bad
karma for himself and karma always wins.

If I were him, I'd point out that he is not under suspicion for doping
but rather has merely been dropped from the Danish team for not
complying with their protocols for advising them of his whereabouts.
The Danes have taken his lack of cooperation as a sign of lack of
motivation and proper commitment to the national program and they'd
rather give his spot on the team to someone more committed to the
    program.

Does anyone here really think he had a shot at winning world's or the
olympics anyway? Also, if I were him, I'd be sleeping with my door
locked and bolted at night to keep Menchov from sneaking in and
slipping a t-patch on my nutsack while i slept.

If a rider misses three tests it's presumed to be equivalent to a
positive test regardless of whether he doped or not.

I understand that, but I think one of cycling's biggest problems right
now is that they seem to on a witch hunt, but unappreciative of the
damages done to the sport's reputation by HOW they're conducting the
witch hunt. I'm suggesting that a bit of PR damage control be used.
If it turns out after the Tour is over that Rasmussen is ruled to have
been positive by virtue of missing three tests, at least the stink
won't be on the Tour. Plus, having gone through countless tests while
wearing yellow may serve to bolster Rasmussen's case, assuming he
passes them all. We don't really need another scandal involving a TdF
    leader at the moment.

No argument there. It is a witch hunt, but people like Rasmussen who
have attitude and visit someplace like Mexico (not that there's
anything wrong with that) give lots of fodder to the tongue waggers.
His [censored] comment about there being someone higher up out to get
him is bizarre. He's getting a public spanking at an embarrassing
time - that's all it is.

He has to follow the rules like everyone else...and learn to shut his
mouth. Or at least start posting on rbr so it would get lost in the
    fog. 🙂

    you mean this?
    http://velonews.com/tour2007/news/articles/12851.0.html

I wish that Richards would have just taken goods to the authorities
when it occurred. There would then be no chance of it being one (or
two) people's word against someone else's. There would be a police
report and a chain of custody of evidence.

I'll be that he has thought the same thing since then (wishing it was
more substantiated) ... but its a fellow racer he probably had doubts
about trashing someone else's career (at the time).

By the way ... "any idea how much that [censored] cost?"

    And from CN:
Michael Rasmussen was suspected by some to be one of the "Men in Black".
The Dane admits that he sometimes doesn't train in the Rabobank outfit,
but says his jersey of choice is blue. He lives near Lago di Garda in
Italy, but sometimes trains in the high altitudes of Mexico, where his
    wife is from.

Does Jersey choice blue -> blue cooler box -> alien DNA transplant ->

Sven Nys has been talking about doing the Olympic MTB race for a few years now.
The man already has over 50 assorted jerseys and now wants a medal to
