Marinated flank steak, Italian green bean almondeen and potato salad. Okay, I don't know what I did wrong with the potato salad, something's missing, but it was good enough.
Steak and green beans, very good.
And those big ol' italian green beans are very good... in fact I picked up two more bags today... I got two packs of Nathan's Specials, and six 2 liter bottles assorted soda... the beans were the only healthful item I bought.

I do like those. Very satisfying to eat. And the sliced almonds in browned butter made them even better.
Thought by now someone would slap me for my new take on spelling amandine. Heh.

Some days that's how it goes. I came this close to picking up some Nathan's dawgs today.

I had some last night for supper, I pan - fried a chuck steak and added the Eye - talian beans into cook, along with some Vidalia onion slices...some soy and butter and sriracha for flavor...simple and satisfying.
I always have a few bags of those beans in the freezer, they are a fave of mine...

LOL I remember Lipton (or was it Betty Crocker?) used to make a packaged noodle mix called Noodles Almondine. This was back in the 1960's. It was essentially a buttery sauced noodle mix and came with a packet of slivered almonds to sprinkle over the top. Mom had a terrible time preventing me from eating the almonds before they made it to the finished "dish".

I always have those sliced almonds on hand. I don't know why I haven't thought to make green beans amandine ... two of my favorite foods together, what's not to like? Of course, it's amazing I don't just eat the almonds plain. I use them in my yogurt.
