Tony S. said:Greetings rec.runners! Please tell us about your training week and goals.
Firstly, I decided to register for a 10km mountain race, with a 1200m
climb, which takes place on June 3. I am probably going to walk most
of it, my aim is to try and do a comfortable effort, in order to
simply finish and see what it's like. I don't mind being passed by
wiry 100year-olds.
19 March
- Off
20 March
- Very easy random mix of running and walking on the hills - a lot of
snow, 35 min total.
Average HR: 121, Max 159
- Weights: Upper body circuit 1-2 set 25-50 rep circuit
21 March
- Cross-country skiing, around 2 hrs easy
22 March
- Terrain-dictated mix of running and walking on my standard hill, 30
min total. Aimed for at least 1-minute long walks. HR av: 143,
Max: 174, with 10 min over 150. Felt easy.
23 March
- Cross coutnry skiing, harder effort, around 1:30.
24 March
- Weights: Upper body circuit 1-2 set 25-50 rep circuit
- Lunges and some simple step/jump/bounding drills, 5-10minutes.
25 March
- 4/1 Run/Walk mix, starting on the hills, ending on the flat. Seemed
to do around 800m in 4min at 143bpm at the end. Jogged and walked a
bit barefoot to relax my feet. I used my minimalist low-profile
shoes today and my lower calves were a bit stressed going uphill, I
could feel the burn. I hope to get my strength back.
