Greetings,
yesterday, while cycling home through rush hour London traffic, I had he pleasure of being
repeatedly honked by a car for daring to be cycling in an active bus lane that he had decided to
claim as his own. To make his presence further known, said car decided to hang about a foot off
my rear wheel as I went along. Obviously the 18 mph I was doing compared to the near static line
of traffic to our right wasn't enough for him. How dare I cycle legally whilst he contravenes
the bus lane!
Imagine my joy when after several hundred yards of this I saw some police in front of me, who
pulled over the driver to my rear. I stopped long enough to hear an officer say to the driver "I've
stopped you for driving in a bus lane and I'm going to issue you a fixed penalty notice." Well, it
gave me a giggle!
