It's interesting that he spends so much time looking down. I found it easier to
stay in the middle of rollers when I looked ahead. But that's me.

Eddie looks where ever he wants.
Ya know all those bad Chuck Norris jokes. Well they're all really about Eddie
Merckx and they're all true and not the least bit funny. When you tell them
about Chuck, they are funny jokes.

Eddy didn't usually have many people in front of him, so he didn't get
in the habit of having to keep his focus riveted on the guy in front.
I'm not saying you do, but....ah, hell, yes I am! 😉

It was nice knowing you, Ron. Eddy is going to have your liver with
some Chianti and fava beans.

Don't be daft. They're steel with silver-brazed lugs.

No doubting the awesomeness of Eddy, but that really isn't fast at
all. He wouldn't even come close to winning any roller races like
that.
This clip is from La Course en Tete, I believe. It's worth watching
the whole thing if you ain't seen it.

He was mugging for the cameras. At full speed it was similar to a
strobe - his legs didn't look like they were moving. 😉
BTW, Eddy might be coming for your liver, too. Lie low for a while -
lights out, shades drawn, don't answer the phone.
R
You are correct. It is a scene from "La Course En Tete", a wonderful
documentary..

I have no problems whatsoever saying that, on that count, you are pretty much
correct. Sad but true...

Yeah, but did Eddie have his own brand of jeans? Huh? Did he? And even if he *did*
have his own brand of jeans, did they have the special Hidden Gusset?

Sheesh. You're new to this stuff, I guess. It goes like this:
You post something serious.
I post a cheeky reply.
You post a smart alecky comeback.
I take a pot shot at you.
You call my heritage into question.
I insult your sister.
You insult my mother.
I bust you one in the mouth.
You bust me one in the mouth.
Then we go drink Guinness and laugh at Kunich and Lafferty.
It's a formula, but it works. Try to stick with the program. 😉

I am in awe. I wonder what would happen if Jonathon Page and He Who
Is Chuck traded simultaneous roundhouse kicks to the head? Would the
Universe collapse? Entropy be reversed. I don't know, but I do know
I want those pants. And the PJs.

I realize my response wasn't particularly smart alecky as I'd just gotten back
from a long ride but I'm fine with skipping straight to laffing at Laff and kasing on
Kunich. You can have my Guiness, I'll take a Stellll-lllaaaa [1].
[1] White Shadow reference, mind you.

The White Shadow grew up in my home town. So did Jim Brown.
Ultra-white and ultra-black. Like that Stevie Wonder song. Only it
didn't play out that way in real life.
I'll raise your Stella with a Taddy Porter.

Eddy was riding 140 rpm just warming up. Weren't you saying that wasn't
possible?

Chuck's hidden gusset is not large enough to hold Eddy.
He does have T-shirts though.

Say it loud, I'm black and I'm proud (the Black Randy and the Metrosquad version,
of course).

Hmm, I've never had one of those. There goes my LIVEDRUNK cred!
But I have had a Leopard Lager in a glass bottle though. That seems to be gone.
