heart failure?
You may want to contact a nutritionist at the Pritikin center and ask for a consult there have been
a lot of studies published on the results of a Pritikin diet with respect of heart disease and
diabetes I think you can ask for information to decide whether Pritikin program make sense to you or
not If you decide that it does, your father could try the Pritikin program (3 weeks) where he will
see a nutritionist, an oncologist, a cardiologist, a neurologist and a endocrinologist so will have
a personal check-up with personalized medical suggestions for his condition. He will have to do
exercises with an exercise physiologist who will also find the better exercise routine for your
father condition. He will have also to attend lecture on nutrition by nutritional professors During
the 3 weeks all his blood parameters will be monitored If the program is effective he should
experience a reduction to safe level of fasting glucose and 60% reduction of glycosylated hemoglobin
levels, 45% reduction of insulin levels, 25% cholesterol level, 33% reduction on triglycerides
level, 30% reducton of high blood pressure, 20% increase of blood flow to the coronary arthery and
massive reduction of post-prandial lipemia I highly suggest to contanct the center and ask for more
information If you want just to give it a try, remember that it's only 2-3 weeks to see really
massive improvement So, if the program won't keep the promises you can looking for other alternative
or different approach, if it does your father should continue with it
These are Pritikin contancts:
Tel: (800) 327-4914 / (305) 935-7131 Fax: (305) 935-7111 Email: [email hidden]
You can also specifically ask for success rate on the program with respect of your father condition
and also to show some convincing study related to your father condition
Good luck Nicholas
My father has had some
Quoted message said:success in the past in controlling his sugar levels with a low carb diet. However, since being
diagnosed with CHF, and subsequently trying to eat less sodium, he's driving himself crazy trying
to figure out what he should and shouldn't be eating.
To make matters worse, since he has started taking meds for the CHF (Digoxin, Lasix and Klor-Con),
his sugar has been running consistently over 200. He is also on insulin, Glucophage and
Notriptyline (for neuropathy). He is overweight - probably needs to lose at least 50 pounds - and
is having a hard time with his energy levels. The CHF meds seems to currently be keeping all
symptoms except fatigue under control.
His doctor says there is nothing that can be done - can't stop taking any of the meds and the
perfect diet is impossible.
So his choice is choosing whether he wants to die from complications of diabetes or CHF???
My father is planning to see a nutritionist soon. However, any advice or suggestions here would
certainly be appreciated, as well.
Thanks.
