  1. So Carla and I headed up to Toronto for the weekend...
It was my birthday so I insited we take a stroll downtown and sight see.
We window shopped and were having a great time... Carla bought me the coolest little fat Budda for a mojo for the new Element. We decided to walk through a mall downtown (Eton Center) we walked around a bit and found a sports store and went in...
Had a look at all the cool hockey gear we could never afford... on our way out I spotted some decent goggles that Carla had been telling me about for DHing.
We were trying them on and doing our bug-eyed imitations when a sales guy walked up and asked what we would be using them for... Snow Boarding??? Skiing???
No I said Downhilling... You know on a mtb...
Well this guys just lit up.. You guys Downhill????
All of a sudden this guy was telling us all about his bikes, The best bike shop to hit, The best places to ride. He regaled us with stories asked us all about our rides... where we rode...
We ended up standing there for about 45 minutes BSing.
What a cool guy.. Why he didn't have a job at a bike shop... I'll never know...
He claims not to meet too many Bikers, let alone many who DH...
We walked out of there and both though of how great he was as a representative for mtbing... He had us pumped to ride... Next time we bring the trials rig.... I have to ride downtown!!!
I wish people here on Long Island would embrace riding and not all the bs smack talking, race attitudes... Everyone around here seems only to care what they ride and how fast they ride it

Happy birthday....Care to share which bike shop he was talking about? Gears is good down in Port
Credit, a ways off for me though...otherwise I have had bad experiences at a few LBS's. Too bad for
them because I've bought tons of stuff online lately.

I know Carla likes Ravenshoe. I was there on Saturday and they had a few new little and big
    obstacles.

  4. What kinda trials bike is it ?

How fast do you ride it ?

    Happy Birthday Mr Jimbo 😉

Cycle Solutions, on Kingston Road, I don't know the exact address but they're in the yellow pages.

Trials bikes don't go fast. They're not meant for speed.

    Jimbo,

If you can stomach coming around the bend to CT, you should get in touch with the guys at Dave's in
Cos Cob. Very good guys who ride evenings once a week (I think it's Wednesday, but I could be wrong)
Sometimes at Mianus, sometimes Saxon Woods. And usually followed by a couple good beers back at the
    shop post ride.

Being in Greenwich, they sell a ton of very high end [censored], but without the attitude. Good guys. I
miss riding with them. Give 'em a call.

Mojo's cannot be bought for that specific purpose. You must 'find' them. Or more accurately,

Come on down to Snowshoe next summer. New DH trails and NS type ladders. We like to race but no

  15. Ack, top posting didn't work it looks like.

Just trying to be facetious about Jims comment about how people in NY only care about what you ride
and how fast you ride it.

Please excuse me while I crawl back into the shadows of A-MB 😉

I think it's the magnetic radiation from the solar flares that is causing rampant idiocy. I have a
tin foil hat you can use to protect yourself from futher damage, For most of us it's a one time only
happening. I will send you my cave too, I'm done with it for the moment.

    Thanks Andrew...
We have only ridden Saxon once... but we would like to give it another run... Fun spot... I think it's okay to ride in the winter but they kick you out in the summer....

    Jimbo(san)

  19. I'm glad you did Jim. 🙂

Summer is on it's way here now, longer days, warmer nights, suits me !

Now if I could just get rid of the 6 day working weeks and the overtime so I can go ridin'

Oh well, better than before when I had all day to sit around and do nothing but no $$$

Life is a fine balance between having what we want and getting what we want isn't it.

Lucky!!! We have nothing but short days and rainy dank nights ;-)

Holidays are my killer work times... I guess you just fit 'em when you get them

S'okay... We have jobs and no cash!!!

<Life is a fine balance between having what we want and getting what we want isn't it.>

Yeah... Balance... We get the feast or famines. Ride every day for 2 weeks and then don't ride for 2 weeks after... Like I said take 'em when yu can get 'em...
