Can anyone recommend heart rate monitors that allow data export to a
text file?
The manufacturers don't seem to advertise this feature even if it is
available. I've looked at the Garmin, Polar, and Timex websites, all
of which tout their proprietary software but give no indication of
whether it allows data export.
As I posted in another thread last week, I am in a physiology lab that
has numerous Polar S510 HRMs and the PC Coach Lite software. As far
as I can tell, there is no export command anywhere in the software and
no capability to copy and paste data into any other program. I can't
even find the data files to try to open them. I did try the
rs200_decode software the someone in the group recommended to me last
week, but without success. Just to clarify (given the replies to the
previous query), importing data into a spreadsheet is not the problem
- I just can't extract it from the stupid Polar software in the first
place. I think that some of the higher-end Polar software allows data
export, but I can't find the information on their web site.
If anyone in the group can say, "I own x HRM with y software and I can
export the data as text," that would be useful information as we
decide whether to buy new HRMs.
Thanks.
