Google Groups has been sick as a dog recently. If my ISP offered usable
Usenet servers, I'd switch to a real Newsreader in a heartbeat. Ugh.

What's wrong with BellSouth's servers (you /are/ on BellSouth, right)?

Yeah, but now all of Google is stuck.

Some high volume groups I read there haven't had messages
    since before 2 pm ET.

My own posts there aren't showing up yet.

Wow, I didn't know anything happened that early in the morning. 8:00 is
    early around my place.

Because you use a real news reader.

Strange; your headers would swear otherwise :-) I take it you've been here,
    done this then:

    Dear Peter,

If you ever break both legs and have nothing else to do, you can look
into a newsreader program to download RBT posts to your Mac and let
you sort, plonk, and reply to your heart's content:

    http://www.newsreaders.com/mac/clients.html

I know nothing about Macs except that my elder sister and her family
adore them, but I'd look into HogWasher 4.1 just for its name alone.

    Cheers,

Kristian Zoerhoff is responding not to you
but to landotter whose headers include
    NNTP-Posting-Host: 70.146.131.65

    Non-authoritative answer:
    65.131.146.70.in-addr.arpa name = adsl-146-131-65.bna.bellsouth.net.

Ah, that explains the confusion; too many levels of quoting to keep straight
    :-)
