  1. Are all of you in the "new school" of biking/uniing? Those people that I
refer to as "cyclists". And that have all seemed to start "cycling" in
the past couple of years. And are thus following the "trend" to wear
    helmets and whatnot.

Or are you hardcore "bikers" that have been biking/uniing for decades.
And as such, you think that helmets are for football.

Or, are any of you cross-overs that don't fit into my categories.

Ehh...not really. Helmets that are made for biking and skating aren't
(typically) the kinds of helmets that would have even saved those guys
in most of those cases. There are many INDEPENDENT studies out there
that show that helmets don't even do anything. That injury rates
actually slightly increase when they are being used.

Motorcycle helmets and full face bike helmets, yeah, but not skate and
cycle helmets. They would do almost nothing to help most of those
    falls.

I have hit my head a couple times wearing a skate helmet, and once
without. The times i have had the helmet on, had i not been wearing it,
it may have not broken my skull, but deffinatly done a number on the
back of my head. WEAR HELMETS, theres no reason not to.

    Yeah really...

I wear a helmet now even though I was into biking back when helmets
were rare. Helmets are no longer "not cool".

I guess it's almost like the turn tobacco took... it used to be you
weren't cool unless you smoked. Now, around here anyways, smoking is
looked upon as a dirty habit and it's no longer cool to smoke.

That's probably one of the smarter things I've heard you say. I agree
    completely.

X, I'm not really sure of your logic behind not wearing a helmet...it
makes us "fake" and not extreme or hardcore because we want to be safe
while trying to perform difficult skills? I really hate that sentiment,
    personally.

It matter's if you stupid skool or smart school

they're gay is a good reason not to. And the fact that if you were
worried about hurting yourself, you shouldn't be riding on one wheel.

It doesn't make YOU fake. I was refered to being a "fake biker/unier",
i.e. someone that's been doing this since before helmets were around,
and now wear one. You are too young to possibly be in that category.

The poll is wondering two things. One, how many agree that helmets are
for sissies. And two, how many helmet wearers are "old school bikers"
and how many are "new school cyclists" (my terms).

I personally dislike cyclists, you know, the guys that all wear yellow
jerseys, have $5000 bikes but don't ride them from their doorsteps,
they have to take them somewhere just so that they can ride on the
road. They turn from the left hand turn lane pretending to be cars. And
they all seem to have began only a few years ago, and THEY ALL WEAR
HELMETS. I recently realized that unicyclists can be "cyclists" too.

Right, that's the perfect philosophy for life. If there's a chance of
something bad happening, don't do it. It can't possibly be worth the
    risk.
