Another waste-of-time poll. Nearly all the polls here are a waste of
time, because people don't know how to use them. But yours is one of
the worst. You claim to be looking for a certain type of information,
but that's not what your poll is asking for.

Were that the case, you should have done a poll that asks yes/no on
wearing a helmet (without suggesting you prefer one or the other). Then
a second poll asking if people have been riding for more or less than
10 years. Why 10? Is that when helmets were invented? Many states have
helmet laws for cyclists, some for more than 10 years. Though they
questionably apply to unicyclists, is that a factor in your search for
information?
Normally I would just have ignored this thread, but you're embarrassing
me. I'm from Detroit too, and Detroit needs all the image help it can
get! Now please explain your understanding of the gayness of helmets.
Be specific, because a lot of people think gay means something else
these days, and a different something else before that.

Brilliant. NEWSFLASH: If you're riding a bike in traffic, with the
cars, the left turn lane is for you too. If you ride like a car you're
more likely to get noticed, less likely to get squashed, and more
likely to be treated like a car. Roads were not invented in Detroit,
and neither were cars. *Paved* roads already existed when cars came
along, thanks to cyclists. The roads are for all vehicles, not just
motor vehicles. Some cyclists wear helmets because they're obeying the
law. Others might wear them because they have a brain, and like to keep
it working. Include me in that group.
I know my helmet won't protect me in any type of crash, at any angle.
It's a compromise between comfort, weight, visibility and protection.
But they do work. Yes there have been tons of studies. Most show some
effectiveness but a few question it. I can show you some first-hand
test that will work every time. Bring a helmet. We'll test with it on
first, because I want you to be able to see how that test goes, then
without.
