I another life I used NPT threads for all sorts of hydraulic stuff on
the oil rigs. Might be useful for hydraulic disks.

NP(F)T means national pipe thread, which is a tapered thread used to join
high pressure pipe lines or to fit guages ect. to high pressure pipe lines.
As it is tapered, it "locks up" and provides a seal without the use of
sealing compounds or gaskets.

NPT also is available in a traditional straight thread (properly called
NPSM) which will join pipe but not seal.

No idea why Lidl would include it in a cheapo tap and die set though.
