I'm rooting for George Hincapie and I think he will win this year's TDF! Here is why, he has the best team in this year's TDF without a doubt. So many of Discovery's riders are in the top 25 and can help him get to where he needs to be! Also you look at Landis who I hate, he has struggled and I dont think he has that great of a team this year to help him win and hold on to get crucial time over his other rivals. I do hope the Levi does come in second, I like the way his team is looking and I think he can get some critica time back in the Mountains. I'm just impressed with Hincapie and I feel that this is his year!!!

First, I'm a big fan of Hincapie...
But there are many, many open questions. For example, is DC behind George? As of now, there are a number of protected riders, with the leader to be chosen based on performance on the road. It is far from clear that they will all coalesce behind GH, and there could easily be divisiveness on the team.
Also, Landis, struggling? Stop hating and look at his record objectively. Paris-Nice is a huge win, and his poorer Dauphine performance is consistent with someone who peaked early for California/Georgia and is now going to peak again for July. Although it is certainly worrisome for him how far back he was. On the other hand, I think I read that he was riding for race mileage, rather than to be competitive.
And look at all the other riders in good form: Evans, Leipheimer, Menchov, Moreau, maybe even Rodgers. The tour is wide open and GH is not a favorite. Good luck to him, hope he wins, but maybe you need to lower your expectations just a wee bit.
Unless your analysis is that of a biased fan, nothing wrong with that! 🙂

Well, I'm also in his corner. We've never seen him riding for himself, only for Lance so we have and wait and see what his abilities are. I'd love to see him win.If Basso and Ullrich were here, I'd say he has no chance at all - but it's an open race now. If Discovery line up behind him, I'd say he has a chance to at least podium.

GH is as interesting as anyone whose performance included, in the same year, something similar to winning 2 stages of the Dauphine, a stage of the TdF, GP Poulay, ...
I guess in your view, unless it's LA or JU or Basso, they must be boring, boring, boring. I have a wider view of the sport, open your eyes, enjoy the sport more, its not just the biggest stars. And not just stars who win consistently, some human frailty (like GH) is interesting also.
Pretty much all teams in all sports have some element of silly banter, they are having fun. Try some joy some time instead of bitterness and antagonism.
