  1. Hi
    Can anybody tell me the type diameter and size of thread used on the crank bolt
    I need to know this as i am using the BB for a different application than on a
    bicycle, I'm sure its not M8, but I may be wrong.

    If it is the standard Shimano square-taper UN-type BB, then it should be M8.
