Really really cant wait!!!😄 Its gonna be quite exciting and as much as I loved Lance, his absence will have positive aspects with the unpredictable nature the race has now become...tommorow must come🙄

The website: http://www21.sbs.com.au/tdf/ does not say if the TDF will be broadcast on any of the extra channels . I will have a look and post an answer over the weekend.

Interesting to see more "supporters" of Le Tour coming on board with their advertising.
Since when has an investment bank had any interest in cycling? But I suppose if it means that we get more coverage a few ads here and there is ok by me.

I recall reading somewhere recently (either on this forum or in the Sydney Morning Herald) that cycling has become the new golf - it's apparently becoming the sport of choice for upper class types who socialise on Saturday mornings, and that owning a nice expensive shiny bike is regarded as a status symbol.

Maybe this particular financial group have decided to test this out...

On a related issue, what's the story with the coverage itself. Why half an hour of chat and recaps before showing the racing. I for one would like to see a start, rather than catching the race an hour in. Also, what are Phil and Paul doing before they start commentating? Are we waiting for the start of an ITV/BBC/Eurosport commenatary, or are they commentating just for us?

When I made the previous comment, I meant said financial group were testing the waters in Australia - there's never been that much interest in cycling here.

But sure cycling is a marginal sport in Australia and getting any business interest is non-trivial.
