Well, unfortunatly I have found a hairline crack on the bottom of the downtube, right where the weld is, on my K2 so...
I'm looking into jumping on the steel bandwagon, and I like the looks of the IF Deluxe. While I understand that they will custom build the frame, any idea what they go for?

$1,350.00, custom or stock. Go custom of course. The lead time is 6 plus weeks. Mine took about seven weeks to ship, but not sure how long it took my dealer to get the payment to them.

Dunno where you are, you'd surely want to see it in person so this may be impractical.
Besides, a custom bike means custom paint too!

Absolutely, and they have some spectacular color schemes. I will probably replace my current frame with a warrenty replacement from K2, but I do believe it'll be my next bike. I'm down in GA, so that really wouldn't be practical. But thanks for the link. There are only 2 dealers here locally, one isn't but about 25 miles from me, so I'll be going to see em' when it's time.

Two color fades are no extra charge. Color schemes are only limited by your imagination, and your wallet.
