My sister-in-law would put her young kids to bed with a baby bottle
full of juice, either apple or orange juice. The poor kids went thru
dozens of dental procedures as infants before I pointed out that maybe
she should put them to bed with a bottle of *water* instead. It cost
her hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars, and her kids had to suffer
thru the awful dental procedures as small children.
The really sad thing is that juices really do not contain that much
nutrition after it is process, packaged, shipped and stored. They just
are sweet acidic flavoured water by the time it gets to the consumer.
Water soluble vitamins break down with processing, exposure to heat,
exposure to light and with time.
Recently one major brand of orange juice was being prominently
advertised as made with "real juice". On closer inspection, the reality
was that a measly 1% of the product was real juice. Pretty sad. Juices
are way over hyped as nutrition.
Unless you pick the fruit yourself right from the tree or bush, and do
the juicing yourself, you really don't know what nutrition, if any, you
are getting from the stuff. And you will always be guaranteed to get a
blast of sugar, albeit "natural" sugars, from most juices.

Years ago I was seeing a naturopathic doc. He told me if I drink any juices
that I should cut them by half with water. Otherwise he said I would be
taking in too much sugar at one time. Doing this helped wean me off sodas
and other junk drinks. These days I drink water, weakened Crystal light
or iced tea.
I can no longer tolerate intensely flavored or highly sweetened drinks.
Just my two cents,
