  1. Hi All,

As part of a stategy to maintain an even, maintainable pace during an
upcoming long race, I posted a question about drafting on slow climbs.
Now that that is sorted, the question becomes what to do on the way
    down.

The ride is more or less flat with some long slight inclines, declines,
    and some rollers:

My intended average speed is 32.75 kmh, and I inted to have as close to
a constant 230W output as I can. The question is, at what speed on some
of the slight declines should I choose to soft-pedal and rest rather
than fight high wind resistance for dubious gains? Should I taper off,
or just keep pedaling to some given speed, and when I reach that coast?
My guess is 45 kmh is a good speed to call it quits at. In other words,
when I find myself going faster than 45, just coast, or soft-pedal to
maintain 45, rather than exert the "budgeted" 230W to reach some
    marginally higher speed.

Suggestions? Given I want to maintain 32.75, where is the point of
    diminishing returns?

    Joseph
