  1. After reading various bits and bobs on this group, and moving from a
shift-working toolbox toting hardware engineer, to a 9-5 software
engineer, I took the plunge and spent an absolute fortune on a brompton
M3L (it's twice the price of my car!)

I haven't ridden it in anger yet, however I've already caused problems.
I took the built in pump off, and can't figure out how to re-attach it!
    Any hints?

(I'll let you know how my first ride to work went after I do it)

My route is from London Charing Cross, via the Mall, Hyde Park Corner,
Hyde Park, Kensington Hight Street, Sinclair Road (West of the WLL),
andacross shepehrds bush green, as I already know that route.

Additional thoughts, I was little wobbly to begin with, I haven't
ridden a bike (aside from an OyBike a couple of times) for 3 years, and
those had 26" wheels. I've stableised myself now, but I find I'm
    struggling when indicating.

Oh well, wish me luck anyway, at least it's downhill to the station.

I've no idea, but that's the sort of question that really brightens up my
    Monday morning!
I shall cycle to work with a smile on my face.
I hope someone has the answer.
    Peter

Not really, last time I tried to get mine /off/ I had the opposite
    problem... ;-)

Practice should sort it. Many people find a Brom a bit twitchy at first
but most soon seem to dial in. Because of the upright position there's
little weight on the bars, so it's easier to progress on one handed
riding than it usually is with drops or other bars needing a forward lean.

Pump has a red rubber shim that you slide forward to install the pump
and back towards the handle once you have the punp in place. The rear
frame attachments are sized for the pump to fit one way only witha
screw in adaptor on the head end.

Hope this helps, it's from memory as mine is in the boot of the car.

If you find tne Brompton twitchy, try switching between that and a
    tandem!

    regards,

Is the red plastic collar in the 'lock' position? That would prevent
you compressing the pump enough to get it back on the frame mount.
Can't think what else your problem might be.

On the down side, it can feel a bit twitchy, but on the other hand it
is incredibly nippy and manoeuvrable. You'll get used to it quickly
    enough.

Good luck, and more importantly: have fun!

Me too. Far too tight, so I got the floor pump out of the garage.

Having ridden the Brompton for a few days, I got back on the Galaxy and
convinced myself it was broken. A very different beast!

    Good luck, and have fun.
