    That looked fun!

I hope there was a tetanus shot involved after the poking.

    For cactus?

FYI, tetanus lives in soil and manure, any puncture wound that can be
contaminated by such soil is a possible vector for infection. Over the
years rusty nails became the scary monster because of the puncturing and
they're usually on the ground but it's not the rust or the nail that
    matters.

That being said, if I'm poked by anything sticking up out of the ground,
rusty nail or twig, I'll think about getting a tetanus booster. If I'm
poked by a cactus that's floating around in mid-air or even a rusty nail
poking out of fence I don't worry about it.

sticking out of the fence? 😉

Well, I feel so ignorant. I didn't know that and figured it was related
to some property of iron oxide.

    Good to know!

but I'll be up there next week for a week. Maybe ride Dallas Creek, Cowcamp
and the breakfast ride down to Ridgway and back up. Going solo so no ties
