there's no such thing. just search this forum for the scads of threads detailing why you NEVER want to wear underwear under your bike shorts! 🙂

seriously. it's like wearing a bra under a bra. why in the world would you want to wear something under a piece of clothing that's designed to be worn against your skin. it will only cause trouble.

That is what i figured, however I hoped to increase the life of my shorts by reducing the amount of times Ihave to wash them.

So is this a lost cause?

yes. it will hurt your precious bits and not really save you that much time or money. i wash my shorts by hand on occasion and never use the dryer. my shorts last years unless i tear them riding or they get chafed by my seat.

What do you use? Just laundry detergent, or soap?

Liquid soap, something like Woolite. Hand wash and hang dry, they should last a very long time. If you are thinking underwear will increase your shorts life you must have a serious sandpaper azz........

Buy 1/2 dozen pairs of cheap lycra shorts *ones without chamois cost less than $3*. Wear this underneath the precious one. 😄

i guess i just don't understand the extra work to save money on shorts at the expense of comfort.

Buy quality shorts and don't machine wash or dry. Wear nothing underneath. They will last a very long time.

I machine wash my shorts but air dry. I have primarily used a single pair of shorts for three years. Last year I bought a second pair of Pearl shorts. I ride over three thousand miles during the summer months. The oldest pair of shorts are beginning to wear mildly but the 3-D padding is still going strong. I think machine washing is ok.

What can't you beleive? The bra bag or the Cook bit or......

I wear regular undies under my shorts. If I don't the lycra rubs on my knob making me rather uncomfortable.

Hey, we're all cyclists here, just telling it like it is!! Thats a genuine problem for me!!! Embarassing, but genuine.

I'm sure there are other riders out there with embarassing problems...

(Okay, this is the bit where no-one replies and I find out I'm on my own with this)

If anything is rubbing anything else, your shorts are way too loose. They are designed to be tight so no moving or rubbing occurs.
