Last week, we got 53 mph winds. Those of us riding home bucked that
headwind all the way. When it would gust to that speed, you just stepped
off your "No longer going foreward" bike and waited for it to slow down a
bit.

Last weekend I rode an extra 4 miles in a headwind just to get to end
the ride in a tailwind. Average speed into the wind: 8mph. Average
after the tailwind: 14mph. The wind became relatively calm at 23mph.
