Both. He was up there in age and he may have caught some kind of an airborne infection, we aren't
sure. He fought to the end and passed away in my arms last night. I feel like [censored]...- CA-G

We buried him in Bethpage State Park, a secret location at the top of a small hill. We were out
there at midnight with flashlights and a shovel, he was laid to rest on our hometrail. We will get

I think a lot of people have trouble understanding that such a small pet can have a big impact on
your life. Some hamsters are just, well, hamsters ... but some are special. While I was in college,
I had the pleasure of knowing an extremely personable russian dwarf hamster named sparky. Well, he
was pretty huge for a "dwarf" -- his nicknames included "cartman" and "buddha," though buddha
applied as much for his personality as his shape -- there was something about that little guy.I returned to my dorm after a weekend trip to find he had escaped his cage ... thought for sure he
was gone. But no, after I got settled in, i turned around and there he was, on the floor, looking up
at me, waiting to be put in his cage. No muss, no fuss. It's like he was just checking out the
scenery, and now he was ready to go home, thank you very much.The other hamster I had at the time, Tanky, was more of a problem child. She had a personality, too,
but if anything, she struck me as ... disturbed. Feral, if that can be applied to a hamster.
Grouchy, skittish, and very antisocial. Loved her too, even if she didn't give much indication that
she loved me back.Anyway ... words are awkward, but ... I'm sorry for your loss.
