Gawd... The wind woke me up. I think I'll have a glass of tomato juice and go back to bed. Sheesh... It's like a hurricane outside. The cats are in the basement and the dog is sleeping with Steven. <sigh> I need a snack.

I'm with ya, Michael. We have very noisy rain coming down here. The kind with lots of teeny-tiny drops smashing into the windows like they're going to come right through the glass. The thunder and lightning (in the opposite order) only serve to add to the ambence.
I'm comforting myself with a turkey sammich. Maybe the tryptophan will lull me into oblivion. Gotta wash this sammich down with a big ol' glass of milk.

Correction: We're having a thunderstorm with snow pellets slamming the windows. Weather in Minnesota. Never ceases to amaze me.

Turkey and milk are hard at work. Gonna try this sleep thing again.

Carol,
They should make tryptophan in OTC pill form. Although a good turkey sandwich is more fun! 😉

It's no wonder! Tornados touched down in both KS and MO, and more severe Tornado watches in a growing pattern! I hope everyone is safe.

If I had a turkey sandwich and a glass of milk, I'd be OUT for a day, I can't think of anything that would send me into a coma faster than that. In fact, it sends me into a semi-coma just thinking about it. Dee Dee

I wound up dunking Cheetos in ranch dip. Good stuff while watching The Peacemaker on cable 😉

Huh, Cheetos and ranch dip. I wouldn't have thought of that, but it sounds pretty darn good! I'll have to give that one a go sometime when I'm allowed to bring junk food into the house.

It is rainy and icky out today so I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere. I've taken several pics of the fog rolling over the water. As the skies change the colour of the water changes too. It might be a good day to play with the cookie press.

Allowed!?
I was kind of hung up on that statement too. We have a variety of food likes and dislikes that we both respect. There is no allowing at all. If one of us wants a certain food, it's in the house. The same thing goes when the kids visit.

That was pretty strong. We even got some large hail, but not very much. I picked up the largest hailstone I saw, it was about 1-1/2 x 1 x 1.
I've been seeing some roofing signs go up in the neighborhood from the previous hailstorm a few weeks back, so I'll have to call the insurance company and have it checked. I'd prefer not to go through the roof replacement business again, but if it's damaged, there's not much choice.

Andy, they used to sell tryptophan in pill form here in the US. It was, I believe, an amino acid, and it ws sold in health food stores/vitamin departments, etc. Then, if I remember correctly, there was a problem with tryptophan, something about it maybe being contaminated (?), and then it disappeared from the shelves, never to reappear.

Cheetos were on sale and I also bought a bag of pork rinds and some beef jerkey. I'm all set for snacks this week.

Been there and done it. Actually my total downfall is cheese. I love it. All of it.

Believe it or not; We have not had one insurance claim. We've had them out to check on stuff but no damage. We had a creepy plumber once that replaced our hot water thingy. He said we could claim a lot of damages due to the leakage. I told him to [censored].
