Did you get any of those tornadoes that ripped through MO? We had some light hail in a thunderstorm but the storms didn't become tornadoes until they crossed the border into MO. Hope they missed you and everyone else on rfc.

I like wind chimes. I have 5 of them hanging on my patio. Yesterday was warm and humid (got up to 84F) so I had the windows open and fans blowing. The wind kicked up last night and the chimes were going bonkers. The TV weather guys kept talking about nasty storms headed our way.
Early this morning I awakend to KA-BOOM! A crash of thunder that shook the windows and had my cat Persia running for the hills (which means the closet!) But no storm landed here; there was only that single clap of thunder. Now it's sunny and pleasantly cool, not hot and humid. Still a little breezy but not bad. Of course there is no guarantee it won't cloud up again and storm later.
It *might* be time to haul out the grill 🙂 If so, I have to decide... I'm leaning towards grilled burgers. But I also bought some lovely yellow squash which I love grilled. The cornish hen is frozen but I could do the 'thaw in cold water trick'. I have a small head of cabbage which is also nice when grilled; it sort of carmelizes. I need to use it; I'll buy another to go with the corned beef brisket for St. Paddy's.
It is rainy and icky out today so I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere. I've taken several pics of the fog rolling over the water. As the skies change the colour of the water changes too. It might be a good day to play with the cookie press.
Our accumulation was about 4 inches of damp snow. Problem is, now it's blowing and drifting. The neighbor behind us has two enormous trees which are dropping limbs like crazy. Thankfully, we had our two matching trees removed last year. I think they're some kind of ash. At any rate, they're very brittle and susceptible to breakage (the shade from the upper limbs kills the lower limbs - it's always a big mess after a storm).
ObFood: Your cookie idea sounds good. I'm considering baking a Hershey's Perfectly Chocolate Chocolate Cake, and leaving it unfrosted.

Tonight it's left over chicken cut into chunks, put on a bed of wild greens with some onion and chopped mushroom. I'll shred up a little red cabbage and add some jicama. Dressing will be something creamy but I haven't decided yet what it will be. I've got a chunk of parmesan and some gorgonzola, maybe that will be the basis for the dressing. I'm talking a BIG salad here with a chunk of bread and some herbed butter. I'm too lazy to make soup but a beer cheddar soup would be nice.

We've had them on and off all day. Today it was 60F but tomorrow the high is supposed to be 34F 🙁 That means we are likely going to have really horrid weather tonight. The wind right now is just horrible. The sat keeps cutting out. Any signs of lightening and I disconnect the modem. Isn't March a fun month?

Sounds good to me. DH isn't home for dinner so mine will be something with lower prep, maybe. I had a big lunch so I'm still not hungry anyway.
