Seen recently at Barnes & Noble:
Being Dead is No Excuse The Official Southern Ladies Guide to Hosting the Perfect Funeral
Gayden Metcalfe and Charlotte Hays Miramax Books (New York, 2005)
A fair number of "vintage" recipes included, e.g., tomato aspic, pickled shrimp, simple yeast rolls and such.

Traditional Brit always has ham sandwiches, or other pork products. There are some interesting anthropological explanations for this 🙂

I browsed the book a bit. There was a reference to ham sandwiches (served on the split yeast rolls) with a "gussied up" mustard (recipe for mustard also included).

Indeed. I've had the book for about a year, I'll bet. A fun read. --http://www.jamlady.eboard.com , updated 2-19-2006, Yummy! and church review. :-)
