Damaged bottom bracket cups

Hi,

I tried yesterday to remove bottom brackets cups from a 10 year old cro-mo frame. Unfortunately the
cups seemed to be "sealed" to the frame and I accidentally damaged the splines of the left cup,
actually there are no longer splines...

Is there anyway to remove the cup (plastic) from the frame or do I have to look for a new frame ?

If it were my frame, I would take a new hacksaw blade and saw a kerf into the damaged cup (I take
it you were able to get the other cup, and therefore the BB, out?). I would saw right into the
threads of the BB, but no further. This should make the plastic cup fairly easy to get out, either
by prying it out, or perhaps using a punch or a screwdriver and a small hammer to knock it loose.
If you are careful, I doubt you will damage any threads beyond that original saw cut, and you wont
miss those threads. when the plastic cup is out, clean it up with a wirebrush or the like, and find
an old steel bottom bracket cup to screw in, essentially clearing the threads. Then you should be
good to go!

This assumes you are able to get the fixed cup/BB out. If you have yet to do this, and it is seized
as well, be sure to bolt your BB tool to the spindle so the tool can not slip and damage your
remaining splines. *Then* you'd have a real chore ahead of you!
