So you don't think his verbal style is entertaining, how about the

I've put chocolate in my chili before. I don't do it all the time-
just depends on the recipe. There are so many chili recipes out there
that i'd imagine just about every food item has been an ingredient at
    one-time or another.
Personally, I think that homemade chili powder using dark roasted
ancho and Mexican chilies provides a "chocolate flavor", so I rarely
use chocolate in my chili anymore.

As far as Sheldon goes, I find him entertaining... unecessarily vulgar
and belittling but his dry wit and myopic replies are oft' quite
    amusing. (IMHO) kev

I know. I just had to poke some fun. I get tired of the stuff too.

    Ob Food:

Not sure about dinner tonight. Methinks I will throw some spicy Italian
sausage in a pot and brown it. I'll remove the sausage and drain on a
paper towel, drain the pot (but for 2 tbs of the fat) and throw in some
fresh diced onion and garlic, sliced mushrooms and maybe, just maybe finely
diced green bell pepper. I'll not do a saute' but just brown the onion a
bit and throw in some canned plum tomatoes and this phenominal dried
Italian Spice Mix I got from a grocer on The Hill. Regular spaghetti
(boxed) will be boiled and topped with said sauce (after simmering for
hours). Final taste test, then reseason and put sauce on spaghetti topped
with freshly grated parmesan and served with salad, garlic cheese sticks
    and lots of love.

Sheldon As Entertainment?? I suppose so, much as one finds the antics of
cute-albeit-misbehaving toddlers and recalcitrant puppies entertaining; his
old salt sailor talk can be amusing, even moreso when he's got his undies in
    a bunch.

I used to have a crush on him until he mistook me for a man . . .

FWIW, being a frequent target of Sheldon's "entertainment", he no longer
riles me. His attacks aren't even worthy of a response. He's a pathetic
and disgusting lifeform and lives at the botom of my killfile, as bottom
    feeders should.

That's nearly clever, your comment. Better than your usual. It's amusing

So you don't think his verbal style is entertaining, how about the
    substance of these posts?

The actual on-topic substance of each and both was a very small part of
them. Mostly, they were vulgar, energetic diatribes designed merely to
insult with some rather vicious nonsense pulled straight out of the air.

    Quoted message said:

In the first, he was reacting to Dxxx's criticism of an OP's

about Mexican oregano was legitimate? In the second, he pointed out

    you disagree? -aem

No, I don't disagree that there were legitimate questions to be posed.
Dialogues demand that. But when the post is virtually all
dyspeptic abuse with very little substance offered, it's neither
entertaining nor informative. Serves no purpose beyond Sheldon's insane
need to shower the most vulgar effluvium he can muster. Just a
continuation of his normal shows of hatred. He wasn't engaged in
discussion, he was making deranged announcements.

But if you think the entirety of what those posts are about is those
neutral comments you make above, then we really have nothing to discuss,
do we. You think that all Sheldon was doing was "reacting" to a post
and merely pointing "out that chocolate is a tasty , not infrequent,
addition to chili," then we have a fundamentally different perception of
    what was on the screen.

I understand the notion of flaming, as you certainly can attest. But
Shecky goes from zero to sixty for no apparent reason beyond the fact
that, like dogs licking their balls, he can. To people who have offered
him no reason. To people who are carrying on their own way with no
intent to offer offense or fight.

So, back to your question... do I disagree with the content of Sheldon's
posts. Yes, I do. Because the [censored] and malice are parts of the content.
They aren't neutral decorations; they're integral to his "substance."
The marvelous unloading of the major component - quantity and substance
    - of the ugliness of his posts to render them so neutral is rather
telling, I'd say. Seems to be less about Sheldon and more about poking me.

Do you think these two posts were entertaining? Informative?

I thought you weren't going to answer my reply.

And, no, I don't think so. What I wrote in the post was a small part of
it; the rest was to demonstrate the veracity of it. It wasn't directed
at Sheldon, but everyone else. He's beyond being insulted. And if that
were, in fact, my intent, I can assure you it would have been
appropriately more forceful and rather more direct.

You know, I get the very distinct feeling you're not happy with me. Your
post to this thread, loaded and rather ridiculous for excising Sheldon's
insanity, was a word game exercise for you. Along the hallowed lines of
"Do you still beat your wife?"

The very real fact of the matter is that Sheldon posts insanely ugly
notes while claiming to be "entertaining" - his very choice of
descriptive word. I quoted him to demonstrate that his self-description
is inaccurate. So that's the content and it's information for those
folks who haven't figured it out yet.

But do tell me if you think his posts are as neutral as you tried to
make them sound? Is Sheldon just a misunderstood huggy-bunny that I'm
unfairly picking on? Does Sheldon's posting style deserve praise? Does
his behavior, as exemplified by the two posts quoted, merit much beyond
condemnation? People talk about his contributions. Did you read his post
yesterday where he said that poaching fish is done by steaming them, not
immersing them in liquid? Great contribution, and except for the fact
that it demonstrates that he doesn't know what poaching is, it should
have helped a lot of people make wonderful food, right? Buy a fish
poacher and then proceed to use it stupidly. Great contribution.

So is Shecky just a poor misunderstood marshmallow of a big galoot...?

This is no surprise to anyone. If it bothers you that much, killfile

give him more attention. Honestly, I don't think he cares.

No. Sheldon is a troll who learned to "cook" by pasting what he cuts
from google results and promotes his continued presence (and perhaps
existence) by cadging kudos from his own sock-puppets.
