So you don't think his verbal style is entertaining, how about the
substance of these posts?
The actual on-topic substance of each and both was a very small part of
them. Mostly, they were vulgar, energetic diatribes designed merely to
insult with some rather vicious nonsense pulled straight out of the air.
Quoted message said:In the first, he was reacting to Dxxx's criticism of an OP's
question. Do you disagree with Sheldon that the original question
about Mexican oregano was legitimate? In the second, he pointed out
that chocolate is a tasty , not infrequent, addition to chili. Do
you disagree? -aem
No, I don't disagree that there were legitimate questions to be posed.
Dialogues demand that. But when the post is virtually all
dyspeptic abuse with very little substance offered, it's neither
entertaining nor informative. Serves no purpose beyond Sheldon's insane
need to shower the most vulgar effluvium he can muster. Just a
continuation of his normal shows of hatred. He wasn't engaged in
discussion, he was making deranged announcements.
But if you think the entirety of what those posts are about is those
neutral comments you make above, then we really have nothing to discuss,
do we. You think that all Sheldon was doing was "reacting" to a post
and merely pointing "out that chocolate is a tasty , not infrequent,
addition to chili," then we have a fundamentally different perception of
what was on the screen.
I understand the notion of flaming, as you certainly can attest. But
Shecky goes from zero to sixty for no apparent reason beyond the fact
that, like dogs licking their balls, he can. To people who have offered
him no reason. To people who are carrying on their own way with no
intent to offer offense or fight.
So, back to your question... do I disagree with the content of Sheldon's
posts. Yes, I do. Because the [censored] and malice are parts of the content.
They aren't neutral decorations; they're integral to his "substance."
The marvelous unloading of the major component - quantity and substance
- of the ugliness of his posts to render them so neutral is rather
telling, I'd say. Seems to be less about Sheldon and more about poking me.
Do you think these two posts were entertaining? Informative?
Substantial? Useful in any way? Constructive? Flavorful? Rational?
Nourishing? Remedial?
