No big deal. Most everyone in the US gets divorced. It is over 50% and rising fast. Soon no one will
get married in the US, because it doesn't seem to be working in a country were instant gratification
rules. I already know of a couple people that I know that are having kids and not getting together
at all. They just want to have children and they know they can't be tied down to one mate. This may
be the way of the future here.

Think about it also for one second. How many school shootings are there each year? Now, how many
children have divorced parents? You do the math.

Being that he didn't have much of a positive paternal influence, one wonders how it may affect his
future relationship with his kids. Since Armstrong has a reputation for being less than tolerant to
riders he doesn't like, his comment that "Neither of us wants to get in the situation where when we
drop off the kids, we can't look at each other." is an interesting one.

"We're truly committed to maintaining a good relationship, but not a marriage."? Why should he take
that commitment any more seriously than his wedding vows?

even more never married and divorced families and their kids don't go "Columbining".

It's a bit easier to maintain a friendship. Talking once a month or less will do that. No need to
alter your core to fit another person, which is what a marriage takes. You really can't see the

I get his point. Commitment to a marriage is obviously a lot more important to keep, and they failed
at that. Credibility is an issue here.
