  1. Well, there's been a little problem with my new singlespeed, a problem with the frame. The bike
    cannot be ridden until the problem is corrected. I don't know how long it will take to get fixed,
    but I'll be waiting for the bike a little while longer now... :-(

    I don't see why this is such a problem? You can't use a kickstand while you're riding anyway.

    Not really. Maybe you're confusing cheap steel jobs with their nicer brethren. A decent steel frame
    will be a similar weight to alu with a nicer ride.

    frame will be a similar weight to alu with a nicer ride.

    Narrower tubes too.

    My steely (Reynolds 501) is fairly light, as old MTB's go, and it doesn't flex noticeably at all.
    Frame is a damned sight lighter than the Claude Butler 7000 series alu one I have for sure - that
    thing is a tank, and still flexes at the BB shell when mashing a big gear.

    It had nothing to do with the kickstand...the problem was with the streamers, they were the wrong
    colours...
