  1. only have 2x15 lbs and 1x20lbs dumbells. Looking to exercise my
pectoralis major like in this picture:
    http://www.exrx.net/Muscles/PectoralisSternal.html

there are some exercises listed on the page and some of them (abduction)
are utilising dumbells. But I'm wondering if there are some better exercises
    for
    this muscle?

I'm also planning on getting chinning bar. Would that help me exercise my
    pecs?

    thank you very much

With dumbbells of that weight, you would be better off just doing
    push-ups.

No. Chins affect mostly lats (latissimus dorsi), and to a lesser
    degree, biceps.

  4. I also have a pair of these hevy-resistance bands :

Any chest exercises I can do with these?

Ultra-simplified: Elastic bands involve pulling. Pectorals involve
pushing. The answer is "no." Do push-ups.

And if you can't tell when someone is trolling you, you won't learn
much at all in this newsgroup. See below.

Actually, I have seen people connect these bands to a point behind
them and then use them as a resistance to a pressing movement.
Chances are good that pushes would provide more resistance though.

    Won't pinch your back, either.

I say such things because I tried most of this goofy [censored] many, many
years ago. If someone really wants a silly little toy to exercise
    pectoral muscles, these work:

    http://tinyurl.com/8wdo6
    http://tinyurl.com/c2hqq

They don't work as well as bench presses and dips, probably not even
as well as push-ups, but they do work the pecs. And as you get
stronger, you'll be able to crank out more and more reps, faster and
faster. And one day, after seriously cranking out those reps at high
speed, that big spring may snap and catch you in the chin, almost
    knocking your unconscious.

Wanna guess how I know that?

Heavy iron is good. Use it.

Yes John, tell us the whole story!

Another big hazard with this device is catching chest hair in the big
    spring.

Fortunately, I was never the hairy type. But I have seen the big hairy types
get the spring caught in their big chest mane. Much yelling, cursing and
some blood involved getting it unstuck from this toture device.

That was back when I was about 19, so there wasn't much chest hair
    involved.

If you do this, make absolutely certain that the handles are well secured
and will not beomce airborne when using this device in this unorthodox
    manner.

My brother nailed a set of these things to the wall and proceeded to do some
kind of crazy movement where he stretched the springs out to their maximum
length in front of him. I yelled for him to stop because I could see that
the nails he used to secure the handles were bending.

He did not pay attention to me because he always felt I was overly cautious
when it came to matters of life and limb. The handle gave way and whacked
him in the back of the head. It knocked him forward and sideways. He fell
out of the shed through the door and tumbled down a small hill. He was
barely conscious and it took him awhile to recover and walk around, etc. He
    didn't do that again.

I am not saying that elastic bands are a good replacement for weights,
simply that they can in some cases be better than nothing.

You'll get no arguments from me. If *I* was going to improvise on
equipment I would look around for heavy stuff I could lift over my
head, not bands that I could wrap around a pole and press. Then
again, I have different goals than getting big pecs.

You can do pushing and pulling exercisees with bands. Certain
band/tubing products are better than others, depending on your goals.

I am not interested in purchasing equipment for the sole purpose of
demolition, but if I did break some of my equipment that would be very
very cool (assuming I didn't get hurt). I certainly would throw half
    of the gizmo away.

That particular gizmo does look like it would make a good sap though
