  1. There was a time when the majority of folks in this new groups used to
    post ride reports.

It seems to be the current trend that folks are tending to post a
bunch of BS Off Topic stuff.

Gawd knows I've never posted an OT post ;-)

Anyhow WTF, hope everyone is happy and well in the new year.

I plan on breaking more new ground this year. I have conflicting
feelings about what I'm going to do.

After 15 years or so of MTBing I'm actually going to enter a race this
summer. I've never been one for MTB racing because I ride for more
personal reasons. MTBing has always given me an outlet to relax from
other forms of racing. Now it's all about to come crashing down. My
only hope is to look at this race as a life experience and not as a
race. Once I think about it that way it seems a little easier to
take. I almost feel like I'm cheapening the MTB experience.

I'll be doing the 24 hour Seven Springs MTB race with a bud of mine.
Of course on the SS, wouldn't have it any other way.

RR to follow sometime in 2006.

    Happy New Year All,
    Bill

I might join you there this year. 24 Hours of Allamuchy is cursed and I
refuse to endure another mud bath. I'll be part of the four person Team
    AACR.

Quite happy here. After unusually chilly temps in the single digits
with fun and freezing riding, we've been enduring a month of very
unusual rain. But I ride when the weather breaks, and when it doesn't
I ride in my dreams, or at the YMCA.

Have fun in the race. At least a 24hr event isn't like an ordinary xc
race where you're jammed up like cattle and jostling each other all the
    time. What a joke...

Go for it, and we'll look forward to the RRs.

  4. Never raced and going for a 24 hr one. All I can say
is may the Force be with you.

Ahhh there was a time I used to ride to write RR...
It's been.... hmmmm thinking waaaay back... a few months since we have done any riding...

<It seems to be the current trend that folks are tending to post a

Maybe I will post up why we haven't been able to ride.... and it's alllll off topic! :-)

<Gawd knows I've never posted an OT post ;-)>

    You're that good! ;-)

<Anyhow WTF, hope everyone is happy and well in the new year.>

Same back at everyone here... Happy and healthy New Years!!!

I'm on the same page about racing. But if you're going to pay to ride,
might just as well make it a good one. Did this race and have to say it's
some of the best single track I ever been on. Staying at Whistler and
riding the mountbike park after doesn't hurt either. XC one day and DH in
the park the next, too much fun!

Looks like there was a sandbagger in the senior mens beginner class in

No sandbaggers, just really fast lol! Seems like everyone that lives in
Squamish/Whistler is either a world class athlete or a freak of nature.
After the first half hour of the race I though we were keeping a pretty
quick pace. Then I looked back and realized there was nobody behind us! We
were dead last, panic! I've never been to an open race where everyone is
that fast. Still a great race.

I've raced the Road Apple Rally a couple of times in the vet sport class
(35-45 year olds). Every time some damn class 1 roady from Durango would
enter and clean everybody's clock by 15 minutes or more. Since the guy(s)
didn't normally race in NORBA they didn't have to race 'expert' though they
usually equalled the time of the experts or beat it......

    sandbaggers!

funnest race I've ever done until the city of Farmington took over. The
race didn't seem to be quite as organized as previous years.
