This reminds me of rbr, where you have crackpots like Laffery and Davey
and Bill C comparing the UCI to the third reich and dopers with mass
murderers.

There's a scene in the French movie about the woman who gets abducted at
a gas station (and then her boyfriend spends the rest of his life trying
to find out what happened to her (it was remade in the U.S. without the
bicycling bit during the abduction scene (the name of the book the movie
was made from was something like "The Golden Egg"😉)),Quoted message said:

playing a blow by blow account of the tour. I vaguely recall they were
ascending some famous climb, and Hinault and Fignon were duking it out

the climb. Does anyone know which tour that was from and who ultimately
won?Quoted message said:

Stage 17, 1984 ???

While the ambitious young Frenchman was stung by the criticism and
determined to prove himself in the upcoming alpine stages, Hinault was
even more fed up with playing second fiddle to his former junior
teammate. Stage 17, which took the race over the steep Côte de Laffrey
before the finish up to L'Alpe d'Huez, would provide the showdown.Quoted message said:
When Colombia's Herrera rode away from the field on the short Laffrey
climb, only Fignon could hold his wheel. When the pair gained a minute
before the hilltop. Hinault's reaction was to make a solo pursuit on
the narrow, serpentine descent; he then raced straight past the two
leaders on the valley approach to L'Alpe d'Huez. Insolently, Fignon
ignored Hinault's attack and waited for the final climb.I remember that stage very well - I was there. After the race,
journalists
asked Fignon it he wasn't worried when Hinault was breaking away.
Fignon
answered: "Worried? On the contrary, it made me laugh". Comments like
that
were among the reasons why Fignon never became popular in France...Benjo
I sure as hell know I don't belong in the same group as Davey and
Benjo for knowing the cycling game, but there aren't too many here who
do.

They may be lacking in perspective, but all they're asking for is the
firing of an incompetent [censored].Get back with us when they want him arrested or tried for genocide or

dumbass,
this is what you wrote :
"Maybe because it would take major balls for them to revolt. The UCI is
a dictator over top level cycling and trying to take out the dictator
has historically had really ugly results unless you succeed. ... This
is the Czechs getting run over twice while the world did nothing
because it wasn't worth the risk to support them."this is a a typical rbr knee-jerk rail aginst the man. as far as i can
gauge the UCI is fighting for the riders and the teams (who are
perpetually troubled) against the GT organizers.Quoted message said:

You're giving me an identity crisis....i just think you're a nutcase whi just looks for lauching points for
your canned rants.I'm not sure why I'm even wasting my time with you but the riders
association on more than one occasion has lobbied for more
consideration, and protection of the riders because they don't feel
they are getting it. There have been numerous complaints of lack of
objectivity and arbitrary behavior on the part of the UCI and Wada and
I happen to agree with them.
As for the UCI being a dictatorship, aren't they the sole world
cycling governing body? Where there massive problems with the farce of
an election they just held? Do the people they are actually controlling
have any real power in the system?http://www.cyclingnews.com/news.php?id=news/2005/dec05/dec17news2
CPA wants more protection for riders
The Association of Professional Cyclists is calling for stronger
protection of riders' confidentiality and more rigorous testing methods
with regard to doping affairs. After recent cases involving both
positive test results (Heras) and the overturning of some riders'
sanctions (Capelle), the CPA wants things to be tightened up.Read the rest for yourself as this is just the latest and it really
isn't worth too too much of my time to attempt to enlighten you.http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?va=fascism
fascism
One entry found for fascism.2 : a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or
dictatorial controlThank you for giving me the opportunity to make my case and provide
you with a simple language lesson.Bill C
PS for extra credit please successfully explain your position that the
UCI doesn't meet definition 2 of fascism.
