I have a Record drivetrain with around 10,000 miles on it. Lately I've been experiencing a "click"
on an irregular basis, mostly when applying a lot of pressure to the pedals, which seems to come
from the rear derailleur or cassette area. It is lightly audible and can be felt.
I've tried adjusting the rear derailleur per the instruction book and cleaning and very lightly
greasing the pawls in the freehub. I torqued the BB and crank arms to spec. when I originally
installed them. The cassette and chain have less than 1500 miles on them, and I keep them clean. I
also have grease on the outside of the freehub.
My idea of possible culprits are the IRD 10s snaplink, or the cleats on my shoes (SP Frogs). Neither
of these seems likely to me, but I'm thinking of changing the chain to a Wipperman and buying new
cleats. I would rather not spend money unnecessarily though.
Any ideas?
