  1. Still recovering from the flu which seems to now have turned into a nasty
cold. Wanted something easy to cook with fairly strong flavor so we could
    taste it. <g>

    Very nice dinner, Wayne.

A 'walking' chicken (free range) Empire brand from Trader Joe's. We made it
according to Bittman's instructions which is basically roast at 450ºF in a
skillet (we used a cast iron skillet, not a dutch oven). The breast was not
covered with aluminum foil. It was perfect.

At the same time, we roasted
    Beets (organic) and
    Butternut squash mit butter.
    Steamed broccoli
    French Bread
Sicilian wine (inexpensive, unusual tasting, DH liked it better than I did.)

Popcorn & a movie coming up in an hour.

    Very nice dinner, Wayne.

    Thanks, Dee.

Your dinner sounds lovely. I absolutely love roast chicken and don't make
    it nearly often enough.

Sounds like a nice evening for a snowy day!
