I'm looking @ the mom too. I'm currently sold on the Crank Bros 'Power pump pro'. Life Time Warranty they reckon.
Maybe I'll hold off to see how this thread goes...

After several different mini pumps bought, my Blackburn mini is the one that
just keeps on pumping...

My Blackburn air stik is still going - with the exception of one VERY inconvenient failure.

6am puncture on Adel Freeway - mid winter, cold, dark and drizzly. Pump barrel seized - totally dry , no lube. Called the wife for pick up.

Replaced piston washers with washers from hardware store (50c each) and put a drop of oil in the barrel. Will now check lube every few months. As I carry the pump on the frame, it is subject to a certain amount of moisture and road grime.

So... I recommend the Air stik above others I have used, subject to appropriate maintenance. I am advised by th LBS that none of the mini-pumps will get you the 160psi they advertise - least not quickly. The airstik will get enough pressure to keep going comfortably. Some pumps I have used will get you enough pressure to get you home worrying.

Opinions on the Crank Bros pump seem to be split 50:50 on whether it's any
good or not, and plenty of others are very happy with the Topeak Road Morph
(has a gauge and a pop out hose, does 160psi and works like a mini floor
pump so you can put your whole body into it. Size(LxWxH): 12.7" x 2.26" x
1.1"
Weight: 230 grams, Clip Wt: 25 grams)

Hopefully Santa brings me one and then I'll be able to report on it's
awesomeness or lack thereof.

Road or MTB? Road needs higher pressure, MTB more volume. I don't think
I've sworn at my Blackburn Mammoth for offroad yet, and I've had it for
about 4 years. I find it more reliable than the Airstik was, and I've
still got one of those floating about. It mostly works too.

I've got an alloy bodied Giant pump which has been holding up well, even though the gauge doesn't work & it only pumps to 80psi (plush on the roadie).
It's also a faction too long to stick into my jersey pocket without sticking way out (I think it popped out once).
Hmm, maybe I need some recommendations for a new pump as well.......... :o

I ended up buying a Blackburn Airstick. I had a couple of these before,
and they failed after some tiny springs in the head rusted out. One
amusing failure: I stripped it down roadside and pumped the handle;
there was a big POP and the innards went sailing over four lanes of
peak hour traffic. Bin job. I'm hoping that they make those springs out
of stainless steel, which seems fairly obvious to me.

I thought I was on a good thing then with a Topeak Mini Master Blaster,
but it now lets out more air than goes in. Doesn't look like it can be
dismantled far enough to replace O-rings etc.

Chalk up another vote for the Topeak Road Morph. I've been using it for the last two years, unfortunately more regularly than I'd like.

Says that it can do 160, not so sure about that. 120 is achievable with ease though.

Not sure if I'd call it a mini-pump; it comes with a mounting bracket and takes up most of the space under the top tube. It bloody works though.

I use a BBB very small pump. It fits in my back pocket, on the jersey, and sticks up just a little bit. Can not feel it while riding.
I have had it for 4 months, it has pumped up 2 road tires and 1 mtb tyre.
The road tyres come up to about 90 psi, that is about as high as I can make it go. But you get there without killing yourself, you are fit, right? MTB takes a loooong time, think it was over 300 strokes to get up to 35 psi.
Works well for emergency stuff, but if you race and wanna pump fast, look elsewhere.

(makes it like a lil' mobile trackpump)
beauty of this design is the valve head actually detachs with a tube-tail so you can put valve head on tube-valve then pump like buggery without risking damage to tube-valve

I've done THE road-test on this ... the slow and painfully expensive way. I
have a Surface track pump at home (v.good) and four mini pumps

- Three of them are dripping with innovations and design quirks - and
(consequently?) are totally crud in the fit-for-purpose stakes!!!!! Topeak,
Rav-X and another that escapes me at the moment.

- I am now using a Genuine Innovations mini pump and have been very
impressed. It will easily get to 100+psi - easily adequate to cart home
even at my 90kg robustness. The seal on the valve (where others have proven
wanting) is great. It has not been 'finessed' with unnecessary tweakery.
It has a hollow handle to store glueless patches. The one possible drawback
is that it sacrifices cylinder width for length and, being longer than the
average mini, may drop out of shallow jersey pockets - although I have not
had this happen yet.
